Social Listening: Chipotle

When choosing a company/brand, I wanted to go with something that I personally had a lot of experience with. The first thing I thought of was food. I then thought to myself what kinds of food I enjoy eating everyday and boom, Chipotle came to mind. I love eating at Chipotle because it makes me feel good and  makes eating chicken and rice every day even more fun. After all, the company preaches that the food is "as real as it gets" and that they fight to keep the planet safe. I didn't know what other people thought of it outside of my friends or people I'm close to, so I decided to take a look at Chipotle's twitter account. I was shocked to see the mix of opinions that other people had.  Chipotle's value proposition is that food has the power to change the world.  When I was looking for an article to write about, I thought about things I was interested in. Basketball was one of the first things to pop in my head, and what better to write about than basketball's biggest and most popular association, the NBA. I've been watching a lot of basketball since I was a little kid, but as I've grown older and moved out of my dad's house, I stopped watching it as much because I don't have cable. The only time I get to see games are on YouTube or while I'm at work and they're playing the games on the TV's.  Hi, my name is Tagen Shew, and this is a little about me for my Business Marketing class. I'm currently attending LBCC online where I'm finishing up my associates degree in Business Administrations. Following graduation, I will be taking a real estate course and becoming a licensed broker. Upon finishing this, I hope to build capital to aid in renovation projects and personal home owning. I would really like to scale a renovation business and provide good living spaces for people in my community.  I knew this class would give some insight on promoting a business in a more efficient way. Social media is a great way to market yourself, however there are so many other ways to do so and I wanted to learn about and improve on them. I hope to learn all about the psychology behind marketing and how that can affect the way a consumer portrays information.
